Particle swarm optimization application for multiple attribute decision making in vertical handover in heterogenous wireless networks

In wireless heterogenous networks, mobile terminals are covered by different networks with varying quality of services to ensure the delivery classes services. this paper, Particle swarm optimization (PSO) was applied distance ideal alternative (DIA) technique in framework network selection a network. The PSO overcome subjectivity and bias weights’ assignment process used multiple attribute decision making (MADM). utilized optimize weights DIA method through maximization absolute value summation ranking differences among candidate networks. regard, two functions were introduced generate optimum weights. performance PSO-based handover for investigated terms difference, abnormalities, selection. results show that proposed increased difference reduced abnormalities without degrading when compared conventional technique. paper expected widen application other MADM techniques decision-based challenges fields.
